About Claire

Trained at the College for Transformational Therapy. She is a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and is also listed on the UK Hypnotherapy Register, which is the largest register of hypnotherapists in the UK. She is fully insured and abides by a strict code of ethics and client confidentiality. Claire is also a qualified Life Coach.

Prior to setting up in private practice, Claire worked for many years as a therapist in the NHS, gaining a wealth of experience in helping people cope with stress, anxiety, phobias and depression. Claire now specialises in hypnotherapy and enjoys helping people to make positive changes and to move forward with their lives.

Her Approach

Claire is client-centred and holistic in her approach, focusing on the whole person. She believes that the mind and body are inextricably linked, with the one affecting the other, and that there is considerable interplay between the emotional and the physical. Using the most up-to-date techniques, including Neurolinguistic Programming, she ensures her clients have a positive outcome in the shortest possible time.

How can hypnotherapy help you to make changes?

Hypnotherapy aims to help you find the key to making change happen as quickly, safely and efficiently as possible. It is not a long drawn out process ? through consultation with you, the skilled hypnotherapist can determine whether you need to regress back to find the root of the problem, or whether it is more applicable to use future progression techniques to change your future actions.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to facilitate change. During hypnosis you relax and focus inwardly on your thoughts, feelings and imagination. This enables you to access the subconscious mind to resolve conflicts and make the changes you want. Your mind will automatically focus on the suggestions that are being put to you to master a particular problem.

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. It is a bit like daydreaming, for example when you are driving to work and your conscious mind is miles away. You suddenly arrive at your destination and you have no idea of how you have got there! You have done the journey so many times that your subconscious has driven the car!

Relaxation

This shows how resourceful our subconscious mind really is, and this is what makes hypnotherapy so powerful. Whilst you are in a pleasant relaxed state you are able to access your conscious mind and your inner resources so you can resolve conflicts and take control ? this is what enables you to make the changes you want to make in the way you feel, think and behave. A skilled hypnotherapist will always work with your co-operation and in the most caring and nurturing manner.

If left untreated, problems can sometimes create a ripple effect into other areas of your life. Many people find that, on completion of effective hypnotherapy, other problems seem to melt away.

About life coaching

Life coaching is a practical, problem-solving technique to help you move forward in all areas of your life. Coaching doesn't claim to have all the answers ? my job as a coach is not to go over old ground, but to work with clients to look forward and to help them find the answers themselves.
I use a combination of listening skills and the techniques and principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, to understand your needs and to centre my coaching around them.
It is essential that coaches coach and do not give advice. There's a huge difference between coaching and advising, and my role is to help you to find your own solutions.
