Getting rid of a mattress

Does anybody know how I can get rid of an old mattress that I have lying around??? Does the local tip have facilities for me to use???

Railway Terrace Household Waste facility should accept it.
I'm sure the council did away with the charge for collecting bulky items.
Give them a ring. Worth a try.

I have a mattress to get rid of also. As CF says -ring the council as they dont charge now.
