Tell Madderbat hello for me, would you?
My garden is put to bed for the winter now. A few tomatoes wrapped in newspaper upstairs in a cold room; hoping I can get them out to ripen in a few weeks.

Thank you BW, dont think we were there that long before we moved but have some fond memories of my time their, are you the posh end (near the station) or the rough end where we lived number 25. remember the Lonsdale pub and where the play park is now towards the station there used to be a coal merchants, many a time took an old pram to collect bits of coal, times were hard then. been down the street a few times, its changed a lot, except for the nightmare parking problem, thats still there

Apparently the planning application has just been submitted, presumably by William Davis Ltd.
The only specifics in the local rag is 122 houses and apartments.

There were proposals for a pub (*Lonny only 100 yards away - closed down), convenience store (*Norman's and the Londis are both very close), hotel (**East Midlands Hotel, 200 yards away - demolished) and multi-storey car park.

*Is this developement supposed to be big enough to support these additions to the local amenities?
**Will London boroughs again send their asylum seekers to fill this establishment as they did with the EMH?
