Funny little story for you all...
We were in town yesterday afternoon. We had arranged to meet up with a friend on a street corner in town. (The tyre place opposite where the Cherry Tree was.) Our friend was late and the arthritis in my hands was kicking in so I was stretching my hands, forming a fist, hands on my side stretching my arms etc. Nowt odd about that really... I do it quite often without thinking. I had stood up and Mrs. Plotty was still sat on the wall. (For anyone that don't know me I'm over 6ft and a quite stocky 18 stone.) I was in the Services many years ago so I still stand according to Mrs. Plotty to attention! I spotted this man walking towards us and he said to Mrs. Plotty "Are you alright?" She said yes thanks. He took a couple of paces, turned around and said... "Are you sure that you are alright?" She said yes again, and the chap walked off, glancing back every few steps to check. Then he disappeared into the Druids. Mrs. Plotty and I looked at each other and asked ourselves what that was all about. All we can assume is that because I was "flexing" myself and because of the way I was standing he must have thought we were having some bother! We imagined him in the Druids later sharing his tale with the regulars. No doubt I was soon dubbed the Beast of Loughborough or something after his tale was glossed over! Just shows you though how easy it is to misinterpret things! Last edited by plot28 : 19-07-09 at 07:13 AM. |

might be fun to have a game of chinese whispers to see how the story unfolded, the more pints the more it would be embellished

Whereby messages get altered in the passing-on.
My favourite, the army favourite: Send reinforcements, we're going to advance - Send three and fourpence, we're going to a dance. |
