picture of peoples feet when walkingFUNDRAISERS will be putting their best feet forward as they aim to raise cash for a national charity during a sponsored walk in Loughborough.

Charnwood Borough Councils Leisure Services Team has organised the stroll from Southfields Park on Friday, 15th June as part of Diabetes UKs Walk in the Park 2007 Campaign.

The charity is aiming to collect as much money as possible during the nationwide event to improve its chances of preventing or curing diabetes as well as providing vital services.

Charnwood residents keen to take part can collect sponsorship forms from the Borough Council - or simply turn up on the day and make a donation to the cause.

The two-and-a-half mile walk starts at 10am close to the park entrance on the corner of Southfields Road and is included in the Authoritys Guided Walks in and around Charnwood 2007 programme.

Nita Pearson, Charnwood Borough Councils Active Lifestyle Development Officer, said: "The aim is to introduce gentle exercise into peoples lifestyles " as well as helping raise money for charity.

"Walking is a great way to keep fit and this event is aimed at people of all ages as it will be a nice easy stroll.

"Hopefully, we can get a really good turnout and collect as much money as we can for Diabetes UK.
