Detectives investigating an attempted armed robbery at a jewellers in Loughborough have released CCTV stills of a vehicle and two men they wish to identify and trace in connection with the incident.
The incident took place shortly before 5pm on Thursday May 31 in Swan Street, Loughborough. Two men, both white and in their 20s, entered the store, threatened members of staff with what was believed to be a firearm and demanded jewellery.
The men left the shop on foot empty handed. A female member of staff received minor injuries during the incident and was treated by the ambulance service.
Detective Sergeant Peter Wheeler from Loughborough local policing unit, said: "The CCTV stills show two men and a green Rover Saloon, which we are trying to identify and trace in connection with the incident. I would ask people to look carefully at these stills and contact us if they recognise the men or have seen a similar vehicle either being driven or parked in their street.
"I would also like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw two men acting suspiciously in the area and has not yet spoken to the police to contact us. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem could help with our enquiries."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DS 307 Peter Wheeler at Loughborough local policing unit on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officers identification number 0307.
