Interested in how your police force is performing? - then keep a look out for your local policing summary which will be dropping through your Loughborough letter-boxes very soon.

The aim is to let you know how the Police have been doing in meeting their priorities and most importantly how they are making our communities even safer.

So you get the information that is most local to you, the summary focuses on Loughborough as well as letting you know how we are performing across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Under the Serious and Organised Crime and Police Act it is now a statutory requirement for the Police to produce a local policing summary as soon as possible after the end of the financial year to be delivered to every single household in the Force area. Distribution has begun and will continue throughout July.

Chief Constable Matt Baggott said: "Over the past year we have made some important changes to the way we work in your area - bringing policing even further into the heart of your community.

"In your local policing summary you will be able to find out how we performed in your area last year and what we are aiming to achieve in the future. You will also be able to find out how you can make your views on policing count together with how you can help to make where you live even safer and more pleasant.

"The Force as a whole achieved a great deal during the last financial year. We are proud of what we have achieved but there is always room for improvement. The local policing summary outlines the commitments we have made to further improve our service to you.

"I hope that you will be able to take a few minutes to read the summary."
