AS PART of its innovative look to the future, Charnwood Borough Council is recruiting two high profile positions to drive the organisation forward and deliver real value for money for tax payers.
The Leicestershire Council, currently out to advert on the two posts, will appoint a new Director of Change Management and a newly created role of Assistant Chief Executive with responsibility for delivering Value for Money.
Chief Executive of Charnwood, Brian Hayes, said: "We want people who will challenge, inspire and strive for top performance in the Council. We are making huge jumps to be a more efficient and effective organisation and were impatient to see the results on what is a hefty programme of change.
The Director of Change Management was previously held by Richard Chester, who is leaving the Authority to take an executive role working with NHS boards in the East Midlands to develop appropriate policies to ensure that equality and human rights are embedded in day-to-day working. The successful candidate will need to provide clear direction, have a good ear and a keen eye for what makes effective working and change, for the better. The role will be responsible for a multi-disciplined directorate including Community Safety, HR, Community Strategy Support and Equalities and Diversity and will have the key to influence cross-organisation on all corporate and operational matters relating to the Councils aims and objectives. Salary will be in the region of £65k to £69k.
The Assistant Chief Executive responsible for Value for Money will lead, implement and drive the Councils commitment to the pursuit of economy efficiency and effectiveness as part of its corporate strategies, key projects and in all aspect of service delivery. The post will also ensure the Council adopts good practice and adheres to Value for Money principles in all of its activities, aiming to generate significant savings over the next two years and beyond. Salary will be in the region of £51k to £55k.
Both positions will be based at the Borough Councils offices in Loughborough.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Richard Shepherd (Conservative councillor for Quorn & Mountsorrel Castle ), said: "We are fully committed to delivering real value and making changes to the Council which will impact positively on all across the Borough. These posts are pivotal to this drive.
