The action took place at Donington Sunday Market on the 1st July 2007 as officers from local authorities across the East Midlands region took part in an operation to combat the growing trade in counterfeit clothing, footwear, headwear and eyewear being sold at the market.

Trading Standards officers seized hundreds of items including jackets, t-shirts, jeans, shoes, caps, underwear and sunglasses from 3 stalls at the market, with a street value estimated to be in excess of £30,000.

Following the seizure of the goods, 4 men were arrested and taken to Derby City Police Station for questioning, before being released on police bail pending further enquiries.

In addition to the arrests, Trading Standards officers executed search warrants on premises in both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, as part of the operation to tackle the trade of counterfeit goods at Donington Sunday Market.  The investigation continues.
