Charnwood Museum is Full of Snakes, Snails and Spiders!

Or at least it was today. Zoolab, who have been a hit previously at the Museum in Loughborough returned with a collection of exotic and interesting creatures. In the education room at the museum children were shown and told about the animals, and, for certain critters were allowed to hold them. There were many volunteers to handle the creatures, although interestingly enough not so many parents.
One of the visitors was Fanta who is a 7 year old Californian Corn Snake (pictured) who surprisingly has over 200 teeth and more bones than your typical human. Luckily he only eats once every three weeks and then only small rats, mice or toads. He couldnt eat a whole child!
For once there are currently places available on some of the other forthcoming Zoolab workshops. This is a rarity and is not expected to last long. So if you have ever tried to book onto a Zoolab workshop and discovered all the places had already gone, then now is your chance. But be quick " once word gets out….
The next Zoolabs Rainforest Roadshow will be at Charnwood Museum on Friday 27 July. There will be further events on Monday 6 August, Wednesday 15 August & Wednesday 29 August. Zoolab workshops cost £2 per person. Places must be booked and paid for in advance. Children must be accompanied by an appropriate adult. Call Charnwood Museum on 01509 233754 to reserve your place, or visit the museum in Queens Park, Loughborough.
