We are supposed to be more ecological these days  and jumping on a bus rather than getting into the car is supposed to be one of the ways that we can cut down on CO2 and also will reduce traffic congestion. However sometimes it can be difficult to find out which bus to get and when. With this in mind Leicestershire County Council has published a new guide aimed at simplifying planning your journey to some local attractions.

Places such as Twycross Zoo, parts of the National Forest and also the Great Central Railway are covered in the publication.

James Holden, the County Councils Assistant Director of Highways and Transportation, said: "Buses offer a good value, parking-free and environmentally-friendly way to travel.  These free guides will help people get out and about and visit some of the fantastic attractions our county has to offer without having to worry about taking the car."

You will be able to get hold of the publication from Tourist Information centres (e.g. The Town Hall in Loughborough), from Libraries (Granby Street, Loughborough) or you can download it from the County Councils website. It should be available from the 13th August 2007.
