bikesA massive eight hundred pounds has been raised for Crohns In Childhood Research Association. (CiCRA) by a team of police officers who used to be based at the police station in Shepshed.

Setting of from Ravenglass in Cumbria the officers cycled 170 miles until they got to Robin Hood Bay. They had originally hoped to raise £500 from their efforts, which they exceeded by £300. This is the third time they have raised money for charity and given their success are already planning the 4th event for next year.

Loughborough Police Constable Robert Beaken who drove the van and supported the officers who were cycling said that they were very pleased given problems they had immediately prior to the event when two officers had to drop out at the last minute.

The decision to support for Crohns In Childhood Research Association was made because one of the team members son had been diagnosed with the disease. The money will go to research projects and providing information and support to the suffers of the disease and their families.
