Loughborough Youngsters to choose

YOUNGSTERS can help choose play equipment they would like to see in a Loughborough park during the final Play Day of Charnwood Borough Councils Summer Holiday Activity Programme.
The free event, at Queens Park on Wednesday, 22nd August between 2pm and 4.30pm, will feature a number of fun activities for the whole family, including dance and art workshops.
And equipment from some of the major suppliers will also be on display so children and parents can give their views on what they would like the Council to install in the picturesque park.
There will also be an opportunity to speak to Leisure Officers about what type of events the Authority should be putting on for youngsters in future Holiday Activity Programmes.
Families can also book on a day trip to the West Midlands Safari Park, taking place on Monday, 20th August.
The admission price includes an exciting four-mile drive through the Safari, a variety of attractions to explore on foot, including the Sea Lion Theatre, Reptile House and Hippo Lakes, plus wrist bands for rides.
Spaces are also available on a three-day hockey camp for 10 to 16-year-olds taking place between Tuesday, 21st August and Thursday, 23rd August at the Soar Valley Leisure Centre.
Zara Spencer, Charnwood Borough Councils Sport and Activity Leisure Co-ordinator, said: "The Play Day events held across the Borough so far have proved to be extremely well attended and Im sure the Queens Park event will be just as popular.
"Its great that children and parents can give their views on the play equipment they would like to see installed at the park and we would encourage them to come forward and let us know what they think.
Wild Card holders can make some fantastic savings on events in the Holiday Activity Programme, such as the West Midlands Safari Park trip.
