Loughborough remains in top flight of UK universities

This year the Times Good University Guide has ranked Loughborough University 12th, out of 113 institutions again placing it amongst the UKs top educational institutions.
This marks the sixth year in a row that Loughborough has been ranked in the top 15, cementing its status as one of the countrys finest universities. The University is also placed joint top of the guide in the student satisfaction category.
The guide is based upon eight measures of quality " those being student satisfaction (4.1 out of 5), research quality (4.3 out of 7), entry standards (368), student/staff ratio (17.6:1), services and facilities spend (£1217), completion rates (94%), good honours (63.8), graduate prospects (69.7). The total score out of a possible 1000 was 755, with Oxford scoring the maximum of 1000 and Liverpool Hope scoring the lowest at 191. Nearby Leicester University scored 705 (21st) and Nottingham scored 721 (19th).

Recent applications figures released by UCAS and Loughboroughs top 15 ranking in the UKs newest league table, The Good University Guide, provide further confirmation of Loughboroughs growing popularity.
The applications statistics show an 11.2% increase in the number of students applying to study full-time undergraduate courses at Loughborough. The rise, which is more than double the national average of 5.3%, puts the University towards the top of the applications table. In The Good University Guide Loughborough is ranked in 11th position, again placing it firmly among the UKs academic elite.
