rowena hiltonCHANGE is continual at Charnwood Borough Council and the appointment of a new Director of Change Management will see a real expert at the helm.

Nottingham born, Rowena Hilton will take up the senior post of Director of Change Management in the early autumn.

Cambridge educated, Hilton has experience across the globe in management with work as far flung as Russia across both the Financial and Public sectors.

She will be joining Charnwood from Staffordshire University, where she held the Business Manager position in the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design but will be looking to move to the County following the appointment.

Hilton commented: "This job comes at a time of significant change for Charnwood and I am really looking forward to leading and being part of the team that delivers successful improvements to benefit the people of Charnwood.

"Its a great job, but more than that I was impressed with the people that I met, and am excited about working with them. Also, its a lovely area, I grew up not far away, and I still have family locally, so its something of a homecoming for me.

Hilton is married to Tim and has twin 5-year-old boys in Oliver and Ben and is finalising her MBA at Warwick University.

Chief Executive of Charnwood, Brian Hayes, said: "Rowena is a great appointment and will really challenge, inspire and strive for top performance in the Council. We are making huge jumps to be a more efficient and effective organisation and were impatient to see the results on what is a hefty programme of change, something Rowena shows a great track record for achieving.

Hilton ended: "When Im not at work, I enjoy the gym, and having a go at most sports. Ive played a lot of netball in my time, and am intending to come out of retirement to play in Loughborough.

"I am also involved with charity fundraising, and organise an annual ball for the Community First Responders in Eccleshall. And the rest of the time, I seem to be a taxi-service and social secretary for my small children whose social life is significantly more extensive than mine!
