award of food safety certificateBeaumanor Hall has been awarded a prestigious 3 Star Food Safety Award by Charnwood Borough Council. The Food Safety Certificate is the first 3 Star Award to be presented and recognises that the premises have maintained a Good Standard of food safety.

The Scores on the Doors scheme is designed to allow the public access to the scoring given to food premises in the Charnwood area by the Food Safety team in the Environmental Health section at Charnwood Borough Council.

Cllr David Slater, Lead Member for Housing & Health presented the award to Jean Matthews at Beaumanor Hall. Cllr Slater said "Wed like to offer our congratulations to Beaumanor Hall for all their obvious hard work in maintaining such standards. Its good for Environmental Health to be seen praising those that do well as well as criticising those who dont prioritise it as heavily!.

The award coincides with the second wave of scoring results being published on the Councils website and there are now approximately 150 premises listed along with their scoring details. Within the next couple of years all of the catering premises in Charnwood will be listed on the website, which will enable everyone to make an informed choice about where they want to eat.

The Food Safety team have received numerous enquiries from businesses, who are interested in how to achieve a 3 star rating such as Beaumanor Hall has achieved. Liz Huband, Lead Environmental Officer at Charnwood Borough Council said "We hope the scheme will encourage a long term improvement in the standard of premises in the Charnwood area.
