Loughboroughs Conservative Parliamentary Spokesperson, Nicky Morgan, is calling for residents of Loughborough to make their opinions known on how flowerbeds should be planted around the town. Last month Leicestershire County Council planted three specimen schemes of planting on Epinal Way, and Nicky is urging the local community in Loughborough to make the views heard over the type of scheme they would prefer replicated throughout the rest of Charnwood.

Nicky, who at the last election reduced Andy Reeds majority of 6,000 to 2,000 votes, together with the Conservative Party in Loughborough campaigns on issues that matter to those living in and around the town. She has also been reselected by the Conservative party to represent Loughborough at the next election.

The planting schemes, which are at the Beacon Way roundabout and the Alan Moss Roundabout on Epinal Way. The County Council announced extra funding for flowers and landscaping from extra investment for verge maintenance which was agreed by Cabinet on the 26th July 2007. This was also the time that extra teams of workers were announced for additional maintenance of roadside verges because of the spell of wet weather which caused a lot of plant growth.

InLoughborough has taken photographs of the planting schemes for you to view (http://www.inloughborough.com/photopost/showgallery.php/cat/565) and if you wish to make your comments known then you can visit the County Councils website at http://www.leics.gov.uk/index/highways/road_pathway_maintenance/flowerbeds.htm .
