Loughborough gets good marks in student satisfaction survey

Loughborough University on Epinal Way continues to be rated as one of the better Universities the Country has to offer.It seems that survey after survey confirms Loughborough as one of the best in the Country. This time it is the National Student Survey where Loughborough gets good marks. Each year students nationally are asked to fill in a survey rating where they are studying as part of the National Student Survey.

The 2007 survey released yesterday shows that 89% of the students who responded from Loughborough say that they are satisfied with the quality of the course they are receiving here. This compares to a national average of 81% for all institutions nationally.

Nationally the survey was taken by 177000 students out of 290000 possible students who could have completed the survey, which equates to a response rate of 60%.

In the individual subject areas that the survey covered, our University ranked in the top ten in the UK

  • Civil Engineering.
  • Information Services.
  • Chemical, Process and Energy Engineering.,
  • Materials and Minerals Technology.
  • Others in Technology.

In total, 23 out of 29 " almost 80% " of Loughboroughs subject areas were ranked in the top ten of their tables.

Professor Shirley Pearce, Vice Chancellor of Loughborough University, said: "We are delighted that Loughborough has been rated so highly in this years National Student Survey and that we remain one of the students favourite HEIs. It is particularly pleasing to see that so many of our subjects are ranked in the top ten in the UK.
