Loughborough Police have just issued (13th September 2007) an appeal for anyone who may have witnessed a robbery last month on Saturday 11th August 2007.

A group of youths approached a man who was walking home after visiting a pub nearby along Forest Road in Loughborough at about 10:30 at night on the Saturday. Three of them consecutively put him in a headlock and threatened the man if they didnt give them money.

The man who feared for his safety handed money to the youths as they attacked him. After handing over the money the youths left him alone.

If you were in the area of Forest Road and either saw the robbery, or perhaps you saw a group of youths walking in the direction of Loughborough town centre then you are asked to get in contact with Police Constable Sheila Govind by calling 0116 2222222  and entering the officers number 4600. Information that you have may be vital in finding the people who carried out this attack and may help prevent attacks such as this reoccurring.

One of the factors that prevents crime is the fear of being caught, so if we are all vigilant and report things we know to that might help solve crime to the Police it has two effects. The first is that it solves crime, the second is that it prevents crime and makes our community safer.
