prima solutions adventure challengeIts good to see Loughborough companies making a difference to others through charitable works and this is just what Prima Solutions, who are based at the Loughborough Technology Park in Ashby Road have just done. Prima have in the past raised money for the childrens hospice in Loughborough (Rainbows) and also sponsor the Leicester Tigers under 10 competition. Now they have just completed the "Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge in North Wales.

Three teams of intrepid employees from Prima Solutions, who are specialists in the clothing and footwear industry, took on Snowdonia recently, donning tough walking boots and hi-tec Gore-Tex jackets, battling the wind and torrential rain to raise a total of £60,000 for overseas development organisation, CARE International.

They joined 12 other teams from companies involved in the manufacture and retail of clothing and footwear, to embrace a tough 12-hour challenge of hiking, biking and canoeing their way round Snowdonia National Park. The days events started at Bedgellert Forest, with a tough 2 ½ hour mountain bike challenge. This was followed by a punishing climb up Wales tallest mountain, Snowdon, and if that wasnt enough the day finished with a canoe on nearby Llyn Padarn. In spite of  the appalling weather during the day all but one team finished.

Prima Solutions who were formed in January 1991 were not only enthusiastic participants but also the sponsors of the event which they successfully organised last year were thrilled with the result.  Team member and joint MD John Norman said "Despite the bad weather, we had a really fantastic day. We are extremely pleased that so many of last years participating companies came back on board for the second Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge, and helped to beat last years fundraising total. The even seems to be building momentum now, and we are already looking forward to next year. We would like to extend our thanks to the fashion and retail sector for making such a valuable contribution to CARE Internationals excellent work in challenging poverty.
