Local MP Welcomes Funding

lottery ticketLoughborough MP Andy Reed has welcomed the latest news that the Big Lottery Fund has awarded  further funding and benefited more groups and organization in and around Loughborough.  The Big Lottery Fund in the East Midlands, which is responsible for distributing the £630M raised by the National Lottery each year has announced that organizations in Sileby have been awarded significant grants in the latest round of awards.

  • Silbey Photographic Society has been allocated over £4,000 for a scheme which will permit them to buy a digital projector, enabling them to give demonstrations to other neighboring organizations.

 

  • Homefield College has been allocated £10,000 to a brand new seven-seater people carrier.  This specialist college provides for students who have learning difficulties and it will permit students to take part and be involved in trips and outings.

Reed stated "its heartening to know that local Loughborough groups such as these, which so often do brilliant work behind the scenes and unnoticed, are receiving such a boost.  He added "Im sure the grant awards will make a real difference to the users.

These awards are the latest in a series that benefited a wide range of groups and organizations in Andy Reeds Loughborough Parliamentary Constituency including;

  • Hind Leys pre-School Playgroup in Shepshed,
  • Charnwood Voluntary Service,
  • St Gregorys Roman Catholic Parish Church in Sileby,
  • Loughborough SUGA (a self help group set up to help people with drug and addiction problems),
  • Loughborough U3a (a voluntary organisation offering learning opportunities for those that have retired and are not in full time employment),
  • Quorn Old Peoples Fellowship,
  • Hathern Youth Club
  • Charnwood Racial Equality Council.
