Hospital Ward Closure
Posted on 13/10/2007
Loughborough Newsdesk

Loughborough MP Andy Reed today got reassurance from Leicestershire County and Rutland Primary Care Trust ( PCT) health bosses that the closure of a ward at Loughborough was a temporary measure to cover unexpected staff absence.
After learning about the closure at Loughborough Hospital Mr Reed without delay took up the matter with the local PCT and was told it was only a temporary matter due to staff suddenly leaving. He was told that he recruitment process had already been started and that as soon as people were in post the facility would open up again.
Andy Reed said; "Whilst this is far from ideal I have been given a personal reassurance that this is a temporary matter hopefully lasting only a couple of months. I wish it hadnt happened at all but I promise to keep a close eye on this to protect users and patients best interests."
