rainbowsRainbows Childrens Hospice in Loughborough is giving the local people the chance of winning its weekly jackpot of £1,000 as well as 30 other cash prizes. The weekly lottery which started in 2004 now has in the region of 4,000 members across the East Midland area. Since its beginning the lottery has been responsible for raising over £400,000. It  continues to provide much needed funding for the hospice.

The lottery is the only continual income which the valuable hospice receives. People supporting it enables Rainbows to provide the very special service it offers our local community.

In order to ensure its continued success they are looking for the local community to help recruit new members and raise awareness of the lottery. Jas Dosanjh, Lottery Sales Executive for Rainbows says, "We are looking for people to give as little or as much time as they can afford to help; this could include leaflet dropping your street or canvassing a whole area!

Rainbows requires a substantial amount of funding to keep its doors open to the children who use the hospice, helping children and young people reach their full potential and get the most out of their short lives. About £2.5M per year, of which only about 5% comes from Government funding.

The lottery costs £1 a week to play and once players sign up, they are allocated a unique 5-digit number, which remains theirs for as long as they wish and there is no minimum of how many numbers you can have. If members sign up for a year, they will receive a free Rainbows Lottery Bear called Lottie as a special thank you!
