Loughborough Xmas Factor Finalists

Posted on 24/10/07

kieran Sutcliffe and Astin-Jade Sutcliffe from ShepshedThe judges for the Charnwood has Xmas Talent competition have made their decision on who is to go forward to the final and possibly win 500.

However, if you have been reading the news stories on inLoughborough, the decision will not be surprising to you. The inLoughboroughs top three tips for the final published on Sunday (20th October 2007) are the same as the judges decision, namely:

  • Brother and sister duet Kieran and Astin-Jade Sutcliffe from Shepshed.
  • Christian Bell-Young from Loughborough
  • Laura Norton from Barrow Upon Soar

They are obviously all keen to win the competition, nearly all of them were near the head of the queue earlier this month outside the Town Hall for the first round of the auditions when people started arriving at the Market Place at 6:30am in the morning.

Christian Bell-Young from LoughboroughThere will be a fourth act joining them on stage on Sunday 25th November 2007. There are four acts who will be competing for a wildcard pass to join Kieran, Astin, Christian and Laura. This has been a late change by the organisers because of the incredibly high standard of entrants. Events on the 25th November kick off at 1pm and will proceed throughout the afternoon and will culminate in the Christmas Lights Switch on by a well known foxy celebrity character.

Other contestants who made it through the second round auditions will all receive a 50 voucher and perform at various venues around Loughborough during the festive season:

  • Wednesday, 28th November 2007 " Ice Rink and first late night shopping " 5pm-8pm
  • Sunday, 9th December 2007 " Santa Fun Run " 11am-1pm
  • Friday, 14th December 2007 "Festive Markets (11am-2pm) and Mayors Christmas Carol Concert (5pm-6pm)

Charnwood Borough Council, who have sponsored the Xmas factor competition, will be distributing flyers in the town centre tomorrow (Thursday 25th October 2007) with the assistance of six Santas. These give details of what is turning out to be the best ever Christmas Programme that Loughborough has seen, when the late night shopping occurs, when there will be free parking, days the farmers market and French market will be taking place, alternatively you could check out our calendar!

Dont forget that there are a further 200 pictures of the second round auditions in the photograph albums!
