St. John Ambulance can trace its history of providing assistance to those in need back over 900 years. One of their current aims is to provide training and products to satisfy first aid and related health and safety needs for all of society. In view of this throughout next year St. John Ambulance are running recognised First Aid at Work courses from their centre based at 18 Packe Street, Loughborough (telephone 08707 565655). The courses they provide are structured to give the practical skills, the confidence and the knowledge that are vital by a first aider in the contemporary workplace in handling emergency situations.

Andy Reed told inLoughborough "I am aware of the comprehensive courses offered by St Johns, including such course content as dealing with heart attacks, choking, poisoning and resuscitation.  He added "accidents can easily happen and its important that all preventative steps and training is undertaken to minimise risk.
