charnwood binNicky Morgan, prospective Conservative MP for Loughborough is warning that Government plans to impose bin taxes on local residents will lead to hardship for many local residents, especially those on fixed incomes such as the elderly.

Elderly residents in Loughborough and particularly those who live in communal areas and share bins with neighbouring homes have contacted Nicky to say that they are especially concerned about how the taxes might be levied on them and how it would be another financial burden on top of their council tax.

Nicky commented, "After much confusion the Government has said that it does intend to go ahead with these taxes which will be a double whammy for families and residents, on top of ever increasing council tax and other household taxes.  The Government has also admitted that a bin tax is more than likely to lead to a surge in fly-tipping which Charnwood Council has worked hard to crack down on and which costs us all money if they have to clear up more dumping of rubbish."
