They will hear the story of the Diwali Festival and hear some rhymes about the season (including some in Hindi). They will also colour in some Rangoli patterns, and learn how to put a sari on correctly.
On the Saturday 17th November 2007 families are invited to join into a musical session at the Loughborough Library [Whatever happened to librarians going shhh? Ed]. The musical activities will be suitable for children between 1 and 5 years. They will be able to sing and dance with each other and play some percussion instruments. Advance booking for these sessions is highly recommended. Children and their carers are invited to help raise money for Children in Need.
On Saturday 24th November 2007 there will be a local studies open day, if you have an interest in the Loughborough area, or how your ancestors used to live you can call in and witness what the library has to offer, by having a look at the displays and conversing with the knowledgeable volunteers.
Children In Need this year occurs on Friday 16th November 2007. If you are perfervid fundraiser and planning to carry out fundraising for charity and need some help you can get information from the BBC website. inLoughborough would also like to hear from any company or organisation in the Charnwood area that is raising funds for this annual event which can make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in the UK.
