8th November 2007

Joe Tormey, Peter Legg, Debbie GreenThis afternoon (8th November 2007) the Mayor of Charnwood, Joe Tormey (its been a very busy 24hrs for him) played host to children from a school in his constituency. Pupils and teachers from Rendell Primary School visited the Mayor at the Loughborough Town Hall at lunchtime. They had lunch with the Mayor and then received a presentation about the Fairs history.

Whilst the fair suffered a sudden torrential down poor at lunchtime, it did stop raining and after the presentation the Mayor and Mayoress (Councillor Debbie Green), together with Mayoral Officer Peter Legg, took the children around the fair to enjoy the rides. The children were especially captivated by Peter following him from ride to ride in a fashion that would have been worthy of 13th Century Hamelin let alone 21st Century Loughborough.

There are several hundred more pictures of the fair in the albums.
