Witches, wizards and cats are expected at Loughborough library on Friday 6 December to help celebrate the birthday of a famous childrens book character.
Winnie the Witch is the creation of childrens author Valerie Thomas and illustrator Korky Paul. The first book in the series was published in 1987 and has become a firm favourite with children ever since.
To celebrate her 20th birthday, Loughborough Library staff are asking children aged between 4 and 7 to come along to the library dressed as a witch, wizard or cat on Friday 6 December at 4.30pm. The children will be able to listen to stories and rhymes about Winnie and other witches, colour in a picture of Winnies cat, Wilbur, try their hand at the Winnie Word search and enjoy a piece of Winnies birthday cake.
Places are limited " please call the library to book on 01509 212985
