Andy Reed, Loughborough MP, and local Labour party activists were in Wymeswold today asking people to give their views on the Post Office Ltd proposal to reduce the service in the village to an Outreach Service. Andy Reed MP has given every household in the village an opportunity to give qualitative feedback on what it will mean for them and what services they currently use.

Andy said:

"It was good to talk and meet with a number of people and ask what the changes could mean for them. In order to make a positive contribution to the consultation I am afraid a petition is of little use. The Post Office will have seen these all before. They know a handful of people use the Post Office yet there is a petition of 2000 names supporting it use! No we need to make a good technical and business case to Post Office. they have told me they will listen to good arguments. That is why I need quality information and why I have put extra effort into asking for more than a signature and why I hope people wont mind putting in a little work and returning their survey. More survey forms are available from my website."
