Nicky Morgan, Prospective Loughborough MP with Harry Rowe and David Willetts

Conservative Shadow Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, David Willetts MP, visited Loughborough University recently. After a busy day meeting the Vice-Chancellor, staff and students, Mr Willetts spoke to a student meeting organised by the Conservative Future branch on campus. His wide-ranging remarks on current political issues, student funding, housing and the economy were welcomed by those listening.

Harry Rowe, Acting Chairman of Loughborough CF said, "It was brilliant to see David Willetts on campus last week. His visit drew students from a variety of fields and more importantly, got them talking about politics. The event ended brilliantly with nearly every student being able to talk to David personally. Loughborough CF has been working hard throughout the university and has begun leading the political debate on campus. This event will hopefully be one of many successful talks over the coming year."

Loughboroughs Prospective Conservative MP, Nicky Morgan, who also attended the meeting said, "I was delighted that David was able to visit Loughborough. Hetold me that hefelt there was a real vitality and energy at the university which impressed him. I hope he will find the issues he discussed here of use to him as he and his team consider the Partys policies on higher education and skills."
