Jitty Robbery

Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a 17-year-old man was robbed in town.

Therobbery happened between midnight and 12.30am on Saturday 8 December 2007 in Claypipe jitty. Claypipe Jitty is the small alleyway that runs between Biggin Street and Swan Street at the side of the new Wilkinsons store in Loughborough.

The 17year old youth was approached by five other youths who then assaulted him and robbed him of his cash. During the cowardly attack (5 on 1!) he sustained minor injuries in the incident which required him to seek hospital treatment.

Already the police have managed to apprehend and arrest two 16-year-old youths in connection with the incident. They have been released on police bail whilst further enquiries take place.

Police Constable Robert Beaken who is responsible for investigating the incident said: "If you were in the area and noticed the group or have any information about the incident or the people responsible for it, please get in touch. Even small details could be crucial."
