Andy Reed MP yesterday met with a local asylum seekers and refugees from the Dreamers youth group in an organised trip around parliament. Andy met with the students who shared with him experiences they faced in their home countries before coming to the UK and answered questions.

In the group Andy talked with youngsters from Eritrea, Iran and Afghanistan. The students talked to Andy about their experiences and the countries they had left behind as well as the issues facing them today in Loughborough.

The trip was organised by Dreamers youth group a County Council run youth group that provides a place where these youngsters can meet together to have fun and learn valuable skills as well. The trip brought a group of 18 young adults and teenagers down to look around the Houses of Parliament, where they had a guided tour and met Andy.

Andy says I am always so inspired by these youngster, people who have had it so hard but yet are here, talking to me about their dreams, goals and ambitions. They tell me about the persecution they have faced and the problems they now have face, but are hopeful for the future.

I was very happy to welcome them to Parliament and listen to their stories, answer questions and support the work of this group that is doing so much for young asylum seekers and refugees in Loughborough.
