Nicky announces arrival of first child

Nicky Morgan, prospective Conservative MP for Loughborough, and her husband, Jonathan, are delighted to announce the arrival of their first child, Alexander. Alex was born 2 weeks early, on 3rd January 2008, in London where Nicky was spending time with her family.
Nicky said, "We are getting used to life with Alex and would like to thank everyone for all the messages we have received and their kind wishes. Alex is now very much in charge in our household! Having Alex has given me a real insight into the good and bad parts of our NHS maternity services, highlighted by last weeks report from the Healthcare Commission. All the midwives I dealt with have been very helpful and supportive - but they are all clearly under enormous pressure and we need more of them."
Nicky is taking a period of maternity leave but is still contactable via her Quorn office or at nicky@loughboroughconservatives.com
