report in Loughborough

Find out about animation in a creative workshop at Charnwood Museum on Saturday 2nd February.

The latest workshop in the ArtZone series will explore the different techniques of animation and participants will get the chance to star in their own film.

The workshop offers the opportunity for young people aged 8-14 years to learn how to draw up a storyboard and design an animation sequence frame by frame. Budding film stars will be photographed in various poses which will then be used to build up animated stories. Everyone will produce a short film of their own which will then be projected onto the wall at the end of the workshop for an exclusive private view.

All materials will be provided for the workshops, and all participants will receive a DVD of all the animations produced after the workshop. This workshop is expected to be very popular so phone Charnwood Museum now on 01509 233754 to reserve your place.

The workshop will be led by Liz De Hevingham who works for Charnwood Arts with the after schools club team. She also teaches computing at Loughborough College.

The Stop Motion Animation workshop forms part of a series of creative workshops for children aged 8 to 14 years held at Charnwood Museum by professional artists. Each week participants can explore different craft and art forms amongst their peers with the assistance of experts but without having to be accompanied by their parents or carers. The workshop series covers a huge variety of techniques from sculpture to expressive painting. Workshops take place on Saturday mornings in school term times from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Workshops cost 5 per child including materials. Concessions 2.50 for families in receipt of means tested benefits. Workshop places must be booked and paid for in advance. Contact the museum on 01509 233754 to reserve your place or email charnwood@leics.gov.uk for further details.
