Healthy older man

Loughborough University is looking for healthy males aged 60-70 years to take part in a study on muscle and bone health.

Staff at the University’s School of Sport and Exercise Sciences (SSES) are carrying out research into the decline of muscle and bone health in older men, in order to establish the genes that influence muscle health in later life.

Volunteers are asked to take part in two two-hour tests (usually one week apart) to scan their bones and muscles and measure their muscle strength, and to attend one morning for a blood test taking no longer than 10 minutes.

In return, participants will receive a free assessment which will provide details on body composition and feedback on bone and muscle health as well as identifying possible problems and advising on how to slow decline.

Anyone interested in taking part in this important study should contact Tracey McCauley on 07743 458 138 or on email at t.m.mccauley@lboro.ac.uk
