nhs website

A new website has been set up to give staff, patients and the public in Loughborough, Charnwood, Leicestershire and Rutland a say in transforming health services over the next 10 years.

www.haveyoursayleicestershire.nhs.uk went online to provide information on the Our NHS, our future Next Stage Review, which aims to develop a plan to improve health services over the next 10 years.

The website will provide up-to-date information on what is happening locally, staff resources, forums for comments, questions and suggestions and blogs and real-time interviews with those involved in the review.

Patients and the public can also log on to www.haveyoursayleicester.nhs.uk and www.haveyoursayrutland.nhs.uk. Alternatively you can email comments and questions to comments@leicestercitypct.nhs.uk. Where possible, answers will then be published on the website and individual responses sent by email.

Project manager Matthew Roberts said: “This website is just part of the work we are doing to encourage patients, NHS staff and the public to get involved in helping to shape the future of NHS services. We want to hear your comments and suggestions and what you think would improve your experience of local NHS services.”

Locally, expert groups have been established to focus on eight areas of healthcare:

•             Staying healthy

•             Maternity and newborn care

•             Children’s care

•             Mental health

•             Acute care

•             Planned care

•             Long-term conditions

•             End-of-life care

Clinical task groups are led by clinicians and include members from health and social care, voluntary and community organisations. The work focuses on improving the patient’s journey through NHS services.  This may mean standardising and improving access to services, reducing waits, reducing unnecessary duplication, reducing number of visits, bringing care closer to home or identifying gaps in training and resources.
