The police in Charnwood are once again working with the fire service and Age Concern to bring a ‘one-stop-shop information point to villages across the area.

The Age Concern Signal Bus will be parked in in various places arround Charnwood including Mountsorrel, Thurmaston, Wymeswold, Quorn, Rothley, Woodhouse Eaves and Anstey during February to offer visitors advice on crime prevention, fire safety and other safety information to help residents of all ages.

The bus has been used by the police, Age Concern at the Fire and Rescue Service before and proved very popular.  This time, representatives from Leicestershire County Council are also coming on board to offer advice on pensions and representatives from Severn Trent Water will also be there to talk about their scheme to prevent bogus callers.

The bus will be at the following locations;

 

  • Tuesday 5 February 2008

10.00 am - 12.00 noon - The Green, Mountsorrel

1.00 pm - 3.00 pm - Silverdale Community Centre, Thurmaston   

 

  • Wednesday 6 February 2008

11.30 am - 3.00pm - Wolds Community Centre, Wymeswold

 

  • Tuesday 19 February 2008

10. 00 am - 12.00 noon - Station Road, Quorn

1.00 pm - 3.00 pm - Cross Green, Rothley

 

  • Wednesday 20 February 2008

10.00am - 12.00 noon - Main Street, Woodhouse Eaves

1.00pm - 3.00pm - The Nook Anstey
