Post Office Closures

Nicky Morgan, prospective Conservative MP for Loughborough has expressed her dismay that the Post Office has confirmed the closure of four post office branches in the Loughborough constituency - ftp://ftp.royalmail.com/Downloads/public/ctf/po/Leics_Northants_and_Rutland_decision_booklet.pdf
Nicky said, "I know that many hundreds of people responded to the consultation on this issue and thousands signed petitions. I think the decision is very short-sighted and the Post Office will come to regret it. Residents who tried to engage the Post Office during the consultation found very little response from them."
She added, "We shall obviously have to wait and see how the outreach service in Wymeswold works, although I suspect the hours offered will be insufficient for those who currently use the village’s branch and this will lead to more car journeys, and we shall have to see how the branch in central Loughborough copes with the additional demand."
