Loughborough MP Runs
Posted on 27/02/2008
R. Reed

Loughborough MP Andy Reed today joined MPs in running a mile for charity.
Reed took part in the Sport Relief Mile in Westminster in order to help to raise the profile of the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Miles taking place up and down the country on Sunday 16th March.
The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile is at the heart of the Sport Relief campaign when tens of thousands of people take to the streets across the entire country and get sponsored for their efforts. All of the money raised is spent by Comic Relief to change countless lives for the better – both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries. The race was started by multi-Olympic Gold Medal winning rower, Sir Stephen Redgrave.
The Loughborough MP Andy Reed said:
“I really enjoyed running the Westminster Mile today for Sports Relief. I may not have won the race, but that’s the whole point of the Sports Relief Mile. You dont have to be an athlete to take part. You dont even have to be a great runner. You just go and enjoy the atmosphere and do your bit for a great cause.
“You could walk, hop or even skip if you wanted. Frankly, I find running it hard enough – but it’s great to be involved!”
