Loughborough RFC become the first senior womens side to play at Leicester Tigers Welford Road ground when they face Belgian national champions Dendermonde this Saturday (1 March).
The Loughborough ladies will take to the floodlit pitch following Tigers Guinness Premiership encounter with Leeds Carnegie and hope supporters will stay to cheer them on.
"Were hoping to put on a good show to demonstrate the standard of womens rugby in Leicestershire," said club captain LJ Adams. "Were really looking forward to playing an international side and were delighted Tigers have invited us to play the fixture at Welford Road."
Loughborough RFC has enjoyed rapid growth since combining with the Loughborough Students side at the start of the 2007/08 season. With more than 50 senior members, the club has two senior sides in RFUW leagues, both with their sights firmly on promotion.
The Loughborough 1st XV, which boasts players with both national and regional representation, plays in the highest midlands league while the 2nd XV compete in Midlands 2 East.
In 2007, the club also introduced an under-15s girls side which continues to go from strength to strength.

The womens match is due to kick off at 6pm.
