Witness appeal after assault in Loughborough

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Loughborough.

The incident happened at around 11.50pm on Thursday February 7, when the 39-year-old victim was walking along Epinal Way towards Knightthorpe Road. A white van-type vehicle pulled up alongside the aggrieved and two Asian men got out and asked her for the time. They then assaulted her and she received injuries to her face.

Both men got back into the vehicle and drove of towards the Maxwell Drive area.

The first suspect is described as Asian, around 5 11"tall and between 20 and 23-years-old with black hair and a moustache. He was wearing a brown tracksuit.

The second suspect is described as Asian, around 6 tall and between 20 and 23-years-old. He was wearing a hooded top, dark blue jeans and white trainers.

PC Jason Stowell from Loughborough local policing unit said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious. Maybe you were on your way home from the pub and saw a vehicle matching this description? Did you see two men acting suspiciously? Maybe you saw the assault happen? If so we want to hear from you."
