Local Conservatives were out in force across Loughborough market on Saturday morning talking to shoppers about rising living costs. The event, involving a survey was organised by the prospective Conservative MP for Loughborough, Nicky Morgan, and had a fantastic response from people out in the town who were happy to talk about their concerns on rising taxes, fuel and food costs as well as increasing utility bills.

Speaking after the event Nicky commented "We have had a fabulous response to our survey this morning from local people. Unfortunately the results portray a community with clear worries over their financial futures. Every response without exception indicated that the cost of living was on a dangerous increase and that lives were being made more difficult as a result. It was clear from the Budget last week that the Government has no answer to the difficulties in the current financial climate and that rather than making life easier for families, taxes are going to carry on increasing."
