The Old Rectory in Loughborough

On April 5th and 6th a conference at County Hall will shed light on the archaeology of medieval Leicestershire.

The conference is being run by the Leicestershire Museums Archaeological Fieldwork Group with support from Leicestershire County Council. It will look at all aspects of the county’s medieval archaeology including villages, religious houses, castles, Leicester Forest, medieval coal mining and much more. Speakers are the local experts in their field. The key-note address will be delivered by Professor Chris Dyer, Director of the Centre for English Local History, at the University of Leicester while delegates will be welcomed by the Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, Mr Mike Jones CC.
