Travel Back In Time For Medieval Fun

BOSWORTH BATTLEFIELD WILL BRING HISTORY TO LIFE OVER THE EASTER HOLIDAY WEEKEND AS RE-ENACTMENT GROUP, LES ROUTIERS LES ROUEN, DESCEND UPON AMBION PARVA MEDIEVAL VILLAGE.
Soak up the sights, sounds and smells of medieval England as you step back in time to 1485 and experience life in a soldiers’ encampment. Discover all about weapons and warfare with regular talks and demonstrations throughout the day, including archery displays and bill drills. Learn more about medieval food from the field kitchen and find out first-hand what life was like for medieval soldiers preparing for battle.
As well as Ambion Parva Medieval Village, visitors can also re-live the famous Battle of Bosworth, with a brand new interactive exhibition, which has already attracted thousands of visitors since it opened in February. Journey through Medieval England, learn how to recruit an army, pick your weapon and join the ranks as this decisive and bloody conflict unfolds.
Over the Easter Weekend, the Battlefield is offering a combined ticket for Ambion Parva and the Exhibition, which will save visitors 10% on the usual ticket price if bought separately. Combination tickets are valid for Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday only.
Mr Ernie White, Leicestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “Bosworth Battlefield offers a unique family day out and with special discounts over Easter there’s never been a better time to visit this exciting attraction.”

Background: Bosworth Battlefield is owned by Leicestershire County Council and is the location of the Battle of Bosworth. The battle, which took place on 22 August 1485, brought an end to 30 years of English civil war, now known as the War of the Roses and saw the infamous King Richard III lose both his life and crown to Henry Tudor. The Battlefield includes a new exhibition telling the story of the Battle and looking at its impact on British history, which has been funded by an award from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Admission to the exhibition and Ambion Parva Medieval Village with the Easter Combination ticket cost Adults £7.20, Children £3.60, Concessions £4.50, Family £18.
