Local Conservatives formed a "Tory Task Force" on Saturday to clear up rubbish and litter along Ling Road in Loughborough . The group, which included prospective Conservative MP, Nicky Morgan, and Charnwood Councillors Hilary Fryer, Jane Hunt and Roy Brown decided to clean up the area after receiving complaints from local residents.

Speaking after the event Nicky Morgan said, "Residents told us that this area needed smartening up. It is one of the main routes into Loughborough so everyone wants it to look good. With support from Charnwood Councils cleansing department we collected a significant amount of rubbish, including one abandoned trolley which was returned to Tesco. I hope this mornings activities show that local Conservatives dont just talk about problems, we roll up our sleeves and get on with sorting them out."
