performer from last years picnic in the parkAs part of the 2008 Heart of Three Cities Festival, Charnwood Arts is once again organising their annual Picnic in the Park event in Queens Park, Granby Street, Loughborough on Saturday May 17th.

Picnic is one of the most popular events in the community calendar, both with local people and performers. It always includes great performances, interesting stalls, fun activities and with a bit of luck lots of spring sunshine!

This year Charnwood Arts is announcing something completely new a performance area especially for buskers.

Picnic organiser Sarah Bailey summed up the aim of the new area:

Imagine the scene: a gently sunny May day; lots of happy, smiling faces and the gentle strumming of a well loved guitar or two.

To complete the picture, Charnwood Arts is looking for buskers who would like to take part in this well-loved and well attended Loughborough event.

If you are a busker and would like the opportunity to play, Charnwood Arts would love to hear from you. Just get in touch with Sarah Bailey at Charnwood Arts on 01509-821035 or at sarahb@charnwood-arts.org.uk.

This is a wonderful opportunity both for newcomers and more established buskers to show what amazing talent weve got in the East Midlands, said Sarah.

For all enquires about Picnic in the Park, please ring Sarah Bailey on 01509-821035 or e-mail her at sarahb@charnwood-arts.org.uk.
