Do you love our natural environment? If so, have you ever thought about expressing the wild world through playing with words? A free workshop is being offered on April 30th by the Community Heritage Initiative, as part of Creative Nature, an events programme designed to develop skills and ideas for recording the countryside and wildlife in innovative and exciting ways.

The only requirements to join in with this free, friendly and informal workshop are: you must have done no (or very little) creative writing before and you are curious about how word-play can enhance your experience of nature.

The session will take place at Leicestershire County Council’s Collection Resources Centre at Barrow upon Soar between 7.00 p.m. and 9.00pm and will take inspiration from the Museums natural history collections. Mark was BBC Wildlife Poet of the Year 2003. Sessions tend to fill up quickly, so early booking is essential. For more information or to reserve places please call 0116 267 1377, email chi@leics.gov.uk or write to Leicestershire County Council’s Environment and Heritage Resources Centre, Holly Hayes, 216 Birstall Road, Birstall, Leicester, LE4 4DG.
