Posted on 23/04/2008
J. Milton
Police in Loughborough have appealed for witnesses this morning (23rd April 2008) following a burglary at Morrisons supermarket.
The burglary took place at around 10.20pm on Friday April 18, 2008 when a group of seven men broke into the store on Maxwell Drive through a side entrance.
Once inside, they forced open the cigarette kiosk and stole a quantity of cigarettes.
After the incident, some of the group made off in a silver Vauxhall Zafira along Maxwell Drive onto Warwick Way and the others on foot.
Witnesses have described as the group as white and between 56" and 6ft tall. They were wearing dark clothing and woolly hats and scarves across their faces.
Detective Constable Alf Doyle, who is investigating the incident said: "I would like to appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Maxwell Drive area at the time of the incident to get in touch.
"If you saw the route the Zafira took or the suspects on foot after the incident please get in touch.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who knows someone who has recently acquired a large quantity of cigarettes or has seen someone selling these items in suspicious circumstances."
