Non-stop road traffic collision in Loughborough

Loughborough PoliceThe local police are appealing for witnesses to make themselves known after a non-stop collision in Loughborough.

The collision occurred at about 10.10am last Thursday (24/4/08) on Moor Lane in Loughborough near to its junction with Russell Street and involved a black car and a pedestrian. The driver of the car then failed to stop at the scene and made off in the general direction of Wharncliffe Road.

The victim who was a female pedestrian in her eighties was taken to LRI to be treated for injuries to her leg. A hospital spokesman described her condition as stable.

PC Emma Gadd of Loughborough Local Policing Unit, said: "The collision took place during a busy time and there may been a number of people in the area. We believe the car was parked on Moor Lane prior to the collision and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who knows the identity of the driver to contact us.

"We would also ask for the driver of the car to come forward."
